Respiratory Protection

Employees who work in environments with insufficient oxygen, or where harmful dusts, fogs, smokes, mists, fumes, gases, vapors, or sprays are present need respirators. Since different hazards require specific respirators, effective training on how to select and use the proper respirator, is critical for employee safety. Employees in hazardous environments are subject to hazards like increased breathing rates, accelerated heartbeat, impaired thinking, and loss of coordination. Even a momentary loss of coordination can be fatal if it occurs while a worker is performing a potentially dangerous activity.

This online course is designed to meet OSHA's annual respiratory protection training standard at 29 CFR 1910.134. Students who complete this course will understand the importance of respiratory protection, be able to select, use, and maintain the proper respiratory protection for their workplace.
